Dear Friends and Family,

Happy Fourth of July!! It was 13 years ago today that we first met while on a mountain biking trip with good friends (a few of which we will see later today).

Please note that a day after spending time with their new baby girl, Trey and Leah decided on a different name. She is Clare Ann Tull and is now five days old!!

Much love,

John and Lucinda

Dear Friends and Family,

Lucinda’s dear grandmother, Dorothy Leyland died last night in Dayton at the age of 97. She had a very full and happy life and will be missed by many. Lucinda will head back to the mid-west in the next day or two.

It is truly amazing to reflect on the memories of a life that lasted 97 years and to then think about a life that just began less than a week ago. We can only hope that Claire Tull’s life will be as long, interesting and full of light and laughter.

You can take a look at this precious new baby under "recent pics".

Much love,

John and Lucinda

Dear Friends and Family,

We usually stay away from anything even remotely political on our site, but when you live each and every day with a lack of limbs you just wonder…..do we all really think about what is happening all over the world? Do we really think about it?

Love to all,

John and Lucinda

Dear Friends and Family,

We’re plugging along here in beautiful Santa Fe. How wonderful that we have actually had a fair bit of rain this month.

Lucinda goes to her downtown office to work everyday and John Tull is spending time catching up on a million or so household chores. We feel lucky to have such mundane lives at the moment. There have been six human cases of plague this year in Northern New Mexico and two have not made it. How very close we were and how very fortunate we are to be alive.

The rest of the summer will be busy as we have quite a few guests arriving throughout the month of August. We (the Buckeye and the Texan) are planning a trip to Austin in September for the Texas/Ohio State football game. Lucinda barely knows how to spell “football” but will be sure to wear her one Ohio State cap. We will also be seeing many friends and Trey, Leah, Ellie and the brand new grandchild.

Later in September we will journey to the D.C. area to speak about our plague experience to the U.S. Army Medical Institute for Infectious Diseases. They are working on a vaccination for plague. Also sometime this fall we will be involved with a project with the BBC and Discovery Channel about our story.

We hope all of you are doing well and staying reasonably cool wherever you might be.

Love,
John and Lucinda
