Dear All,

It has been a while since we last wrote and we have much to report. Today is our 8th wedding anniversary and we cannot quite comprehend all that has happened in our relatively short time together.

John Tull is in his second day of medical leave from his job. Though he has done his absolute best and accomplished so very much physically, emotionally and intellectually over the last year, the endeavor of working a full time job has taken a toll. John’s medical providers have been suggesting for some time that he re-consider trying to be such a tough guy and give it a rest. So as of now he is doing just that. We are looking into the longer-term possibilities.

Lucinda was in Ohio recently to see her grandmother who is still in a nursing home there. She has not declined, but has not improved either. As we have said before, it is difficult to see this woman who lived her entire life fully and independently in her current situation.

Lucinda’s very dear friend Mary Sq. happened to be in Dayton also looking after her aged mother and so the two of them got together and painted the town red.....…well, maybe more like mauve. They might have been wild and crazy during their years in New York, but neither of them can stay up much past 10 PM anymore.

Love,

John and Lucinda

Dear All,

Lucinda’s cousin Darla (who has been on this site quite a bit) has a daughter who is getting married tomorrow. We wish Darla, her daughter and the entire family the very best!!! Sorry we could not be there.

We also want to say that we are so very sorry that we had another loss in our family. Dear Barbara, we are sorry that your father has moved on.

Today we visited a friend who worked with John who is literally on the door of whatever the next world might be. He was not conscious today and will not be again. He is someone we both have loved and he is a great musician, a great thinker and charming as he could be. We met his family who has gathered here from up-state New York to see him out. We cannot tell you what it meant to us to be able to hold his hand and stroke his head. We will not name him at this moment as it all happened very suddenly, but we will wish him the very best flight.

Love to all and thank you.

Dear All,

Our friend Jeff Herles passed away Saturday evening here in Santa Fe. He had worked with John in the Department of Economic Development where he was a major player in Science and Technology. His real passion and background however was in music. He was a talented guy who was full of life and at age 46 was far too young to leave this world. We are among many who will miss him.

Happy Birthday tomorrow to Trey Tull, Doug Wolfe and Malika and Harrison Watson over in Dresden. We love you all.

Love,
John and Lucinda

Dear Friends and Family,

It is a stunningly beautiful morning here in Santa Fe. Northern New Mexico endured a huge windstorm last night which caused an old fashion dust storm in parts of Albuquerque and much damage throughout the area. This morning is clear and somewhat crisp.

Our little courtyard is full of life. The aspens are green, the rose bushes are trying their best, our locust tree (and we can never remember what kind it is) is full of bloom with purple flowers. Two thirds of our grass is still alive and is almost as green as a mid-western lawn. We have at least two different bird’s nests under construction and the builders flitter around all day picking up dog hair for their houses. A bull snake slithered in the other evening and spent a good 40 minutes searching for the mouse who has taken up residence in our wood pile. Bunny rabbits have become far too brave and creep in under the portal gate to eat the grass. It is beyond peaceful and amusing to sit and watch it all with a cup of coffee.

Tull is in his second week of medical leave and has been furiously catching up on badly needed rest. Lucinda has decided to take a plunge and move her business into an office in town. It is time for her to leave the nest after nearly 5 years of working from home as a financial advisor/caretaker. Scary, but exciting.

Our book proposal is still “out there” and going through various changes. It is too complicated to discuss on the site, but just let us say that we have deep respect for all of our writer friends who live with an inordinate lack of stability in their lives. But also know that we are determined to tell our story and will get it done one way or another.

Love to all,

John and Lucinda

Do you know who turns 57 years old tomorrow? The person I love beyond my wildest dreams.

Dear Friends and Family,

Just one year ago that our dear friend Ken-Dog died. A group of old pals met in Austin last night at happy hour to raise a glass to the memories of our buddy. We miss him very much.

Lucinda is preparing to move into her office in town and Tull is trying to rest up and regain his strength.

Congratulations to Brenda Jenkins on the birth of a new grandchild!

So is Ms. Duda going to tell us who got hitched??????

Love,
John and Lucinda

Dear Friends and Family,

Local folks might want to watch Channel 13 news at 5:30 today. (Or check out the link below to read the interview). We were interviewed because New Mexico just had the first plague related death in 12 years this past week. Our thoughts and prayers are with this woman and her family. We once again are reminded about how very fortunate we have been.

We love you all.
