Update September 6, 2003

Dear Friends and Family,

Another beautifully cool, somewhat cloudy morning here in La Villa Real de Santa Fe de San Fancisco de Assis. Shelby just picked Tull up to go to the Pet Parade. (Another important part of our Fiestas weekend. One night we burn an enormous puppet in a pagan ritual and the next day we have a parade where children dress their pets up in funny costumes.)

Lucinda stayed home to be a martyr and work. It's also kind of nice to have peace and quiet on a Saturday morning. Tull and Shelby have promised to bring a green chilli burrito from Pig Boy Willie's (one of the best food stands on the Plaza during Fiestas).

We will have details about the upcoming gallery event planned for September 27 in the next few days. We hope you can all attend!!

Love,
John and Lucinda

Update September 22, 2003

Dear Friends and Family,

Tull walked on crutches today! He said that it was not as scary as he thought it might be, but was still pretty scary. He also stood up and transferred to an exercise mat without assistance. We are both very proud of his work and we spend a bit of time talking about what all has happened in the last (almost) year.

It will take a long time to really process it all. Thanks for helping us get through it.

Love,

John and Lucinda

P.S. Happy Anniversary to Madame X and DBX. Laura, Ellen, Tull, Lucinda and Shelby had a great evening the night of DBX.s Bachelor Party however many years ago it was!

Update September 28th, 2003

Dear Friends and Family,

Kelly and Ben held a truly great party yesterday at House o' Fire gallery. There was plenty of great food, drink, art and music. Thanks to them and everyone who particpated!

It was wonderful to see so many people we had not seen for a while. Mona drove from Fort Worth with Tull's aunt and uncle (Barbara and Johnny). Friends we had not seen since before we got sick were there and a few of our old hospital pals were in attendance.

We were especially glad to see Tull's OT and PT from Kindred (Wally and Stephanie). Wally lectured both of us about always making JT work as hard as possible. Then she came over to him when he was about to be interviewed by one of the local TV reporters and said "Don't you sit in that chair! I want to you stand up for this interview!!" And he did.

Love,
John and Lucinda
